wineglasses.jpgGetting Holiday decorating and planning accomplished during your already busy schedule can seem impossible. Get creative in your holiday decorating and look around the house for inspiration! An adorable trick I like to use for any get together, are quick and stylish candleholders. Use any wine glass with a wide mouth and simply turn it upside down. The flat base now can serve as a temporary candle holder for small scale candles. To enhance the look, use colored wine glasses, or add a festive touch by filling the wine glass with crinkled colored cellophane wrapping paper. I love these “Cheers Pastels” from Mikasa pictured to the left. Everyone will love the creative and homey touch to your mantle or dinner table!
Design Tip: This hoiday decoration can be used in any get-together year round and also works great with martini glasses. Place several differnt glasses in a cluster for varied heights.

Christmas_Decorating_3.jpgAn inexpensive and sophisticated holiday decoration idea takes its queue from nature. Combine nature’s beauty with holiday sparkle by spraying on glitter spray to items found in your yard for a glistening Christmas decoration. Here are some of my favorites; pine cones, twigs, rounded rocks, and seeds that have fallen from trees. These items can be displayed around the house in vases on the mantle or in bowls as a decorative table centerpieces. Try Kryon paper finishes glitter spray which comes in gold or silver.

Christmas Decoration Idea - Tip #2

christmas_decorating2.jpgDecorating for Christmas doesn’t have to include days of glue guns, glitter, and ribbons to give your home a warm and thoughtful touch (unless you just love that stuff—then craft away!). Take a step back and think of simple things you can do to spice up your holiday decor. A quick and easy item I like to keep handy for Christmas decorating is colored glass pebbles in jewel tones. Paired with richly colored candles, these small additions scattered down the middle of a dinner table will add glitter and sparkle. When the holidays are over, they store easily and can be used in vases of flowers.

Christmas Decoration Idea - Table Tip #1

Filed under: Christmas Decoration — Nicole Fraise @ 9:29 pm

christmas_decorating_1.jpgThrowing an informal dinner party during the holidays is a great way to get friends and family together to enjoy each other in this busy time of year. Liven up your Christmas dinner table with some creative holiday place card holders. A simple way to create festive and functional table Christmas decor is to take a few colorful Christmas tree ball decorations and write your guests names on them in craft paint or with a sharpie. Tie a ribbon around a cloth napkin, lace the ribbon through the Christmas ball hanger and tie with a bow. Place each napkin with a personalized Christmas ornament on each plate.

Customize each Christmas decoration by using different colors, different shapes, and adding extra decoration like glitter or sequins. When everyone goes home, send them home with their unique reminder of your Christmas dinner party!

For those of you that want the look without the hassle, Crate and Barrel has come out with a cute and festive Christmas Decoration place card holder with the same basic look, pictured right.
